A history of dependable performance and customer support has made LaMotte the preferred partner for programs such as GREEN/Earth Force, Stroud Water Research Center, Alabama Water Watch and GLOBE. LaMotte's environmental and water quality testing products are an integral component of these successful programs that promote a better understanding of the environment.
Alabama Water Watch Alabama Water Watch (Global Water Watch) has worked with LaMotte Company for over a decade. Since 1992, Director Dr. Bill Deutsch successfully implemented his vision of a self-perpetuating volunteer force of water quality monitors in the state of Alabama. He then proceeded to expand the boundaries of his program not only to surrounding states but worldwide to Asia, South America, and Central America. He developed extensive training modules and levels of certification while working with LaMotte to develop an inexpensive excercise called MacroMania Kit. This excercise introduces students to the use of aquatic macroinvertebrates in water quality monitoring. The mission of the AWW organization is a proud affirmation of their focused efforts:
Grassroots program has citizens planning and using information creatively
Globally aware and locally active conservation methods
Civic education for the sustainable management of food, energy, water, and materials
Citizens get an eyes-wide-open understanding of the ramifications of their decisions
Keep the data credible through certifications, training, quality assurance, and the principle that "no information is better than wrong information"

Earth Force programs focus on the detrimental impact of human activities on the environment and identifying the issues and actions that can be taken to address these challenges. The environmental future will be the responsibility of the youth of today and Earth Force believes that the first step is for students to learn to critically access and understand the overwhelming amount of environmental information that is available today. Partnered with businesses, schools, community-based organizations and civic leaders, Earth Force believes these goals can be met.
Earth Force engages young people as active citizens who improve the environment and their communities now and in the future.
