Our most popular soil test kit with the home gardener, the Garden Guide Soil Test Kit offers accurate analysis for pH, Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potassium using simplified test methods. Graduated test tubes and scoops are used for measurement of the soil sample and reagents.
Results are compared to a laminated color chart. Includes diagrammed instructions and Garden Guide Manual (English, French and Spanish), and The LaMotte Soil Handbook (English only) that provides in-depth background information and a pH preference guide for over 600 plants, trees, and shrubs.

This Salinity kit test for salinity using the Direct Reading Titrator method. Range and sensitivity is 0-40 ppt/0.4 ppt Salinity.
This kit tests for Sulfate using the Octa-Slide 2 Comparator. Range and sensitivity is 20, 40, 60, 80, 100, 120, 160, 200 ppm SO42-. Barium forms a precipitate with sulfate. The turbidity formed is measured using comparator standards or a meter.
An inquiry-based approach to watershed education. Students ask questions, learn to design and implement a river study from acquiring and reading watershed maps to determining/scheduling study sites and water quality testing. They will then compile and analyze results, share the results with their community, and learn to take action through a variety of productive avenues and disciplines.
A great tool for beginning a school-based, community involved water monitoring program. Includes a valuable, comprehensive manual and a set of 9 test factor modules. Same economical, safe, TesTabs® method as the Earth Force Low Cost Water Monitoring Kit. Each module contains easy-to-read, diagrammed instructions; a color chart; a test factor flashcard; and all the necessary apparatus and non-hazardous TesTabs® to perform 100 tests (44 tests for coliform bacteria; unlimited for benthic macroinvertebrates and turbidity).
Recommended for grades 4 and higher. Also ideal for community groups/citizen monitoring efforts.

Colonize submerged leaves in stream habitats. The ability of freshwater macroinvertebrates to flourish depends upon the properties of the water and conditions in the environment. The relative abundance and variety of freshwater macroinvertebrates can be used as bioindicators to assess the quality of the water and the effects of land use on the environment.
This kit measures for acidity by using the phenolphthalein endpoint to determine hydrochloric, sulfuric, and phosphoric acids. Range/sensitivity is 1 drop = 0.1 or 1.0% (as the particular acid).
This kit tests for Calcium and magnesium hardness by using the Dropper Bottle method. All results are as CaCO3. Range/sensitivity is 1 drop = 10 ppm or 1 gpg CaCO3.
This kit tests for Nitrite-Nitrogen using the diazotization/coupling reaction to form a pink color. The results are determined using the Octa-Slide 2 Comparator. Range/sensitivity is 0.05, 0.10, 0.20, 0.30, 0.40, 0.50, 0.60, 0.80 ppm NO2-N.
