Full-time Openings:

Converting Equipment Operator for 2nd or 3rd Shift – Sets up and operates the complete line following various machine set-ups. Completes daily preventative maintenance and maintains cleanliness of the equipment.  Must be well organized with a good attention to detail, must be dependable; be able to work independently; understand and respect the delicacy of the products working with; follow instructions exactly; be motivated towards products and process improvement; be able to work closely with other staff members, and ability to use a computer.  Must be high school graduate or GED equivalent and able to handle a pallet jack; and transport up to 50 pounds.  2nd shift hours are Monday through Friday, 3:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., with overtime as needed.  3rd shift hours are 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., Sunday evening through Friday morning.  Weekend overtime as needed for all three shifts.

Electro-Mechanical Technician for 1st Shift – Responsible for maintaining all plant equipment. The ideal candidate will have thorough knowledge of diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing electromechanical systems. Must have thorough knowledge of PLC and software-controlled machinery.  Requires experience and skills in areas relating to machine maintenance and modification, electrical troubleshooting, and software adjustment. While ability to code software from scratch is not required, software troubleshooting skills are a plus.  Requires good math skills, ability to read and understand equipment diagrams and instruction manuals.  Must be proficient with general computer applications and recordkeeping.  Must be able to walk, climb, kneel, stoop, bend, reach, drive and transport up to 80 pounds. Hours are 7:00 a.m. to 3:45 p.m., with overtime as needed.

Machine Operators for 1st Shift – Operates equipment that dispenses liquids and pouches products. Cross trains with & fills in where needed. Requires mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, good color perception, manual dexterity & ability to transport up to 50 pounds & operate loaded pallet jack.  1st Shift hours are 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with overtime as needed.

Machine Operator Floaters for 3rd Shift – Primarily operates slitting equipment and converting equipment in the test strip department but will operate any equipment or float to other production roles as needed. Must be dependable; be able to work independently; understand and respect the delicacy of the products working with; follow instructions exactly; be motivated towards products and process improvement; be able to work closely with other staff members.  Must have the ability to follow detailed operating and safety instructions accurately.  Requires mechanical aptitude and the ability to use a computer.  Must be able to handle a pallet jack; and be able to transport up to 50 pounds.  Hours are 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., with weekend overtime as needed.  The regular work week begins Sunday at 11:00 p.m. and ends Friday at 7:00 a.m.

Production Manager for 2nd Shift – Oversees the production, quality, safety and personnel functions for 2nd shift.  Supervises a staff of 24.  College education preferred, but will consider a minimum of high school diploma or equivalent for someone with experience.  Must be a leader who has excellent people skills, communication skills and supervisory experience. Must: have good mechanical aptitude and equipment operating skills, be computer literate, be able to work with word processing and spreadsheet applications, be able to learn and use company business software, be able to transport up to 50 pounds, handle a loaded pallet jack, be able to wear a chemical cartridge respirator and train to administer first aid/CPR.  This is an exempt position. The shift runs Monday through Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. and requires weekend work as needed.  

Shipping Packager for 1st Shift – Completes order fulfillment by picking parts for shipment. Packs all customer orders.  Takes orders to shipping packaging area for preparation and packing.  Ensuring that shipments are packaged properly for the mode of transportation and any applicable hazardous material compliance.  Weighs and processes shipments using manifest mailing equipment.  Must be able to transport packages up to 70 pounds frequently each day. Hrs. are 7:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., Monday through Friday, with overtime as needed. 

Slitter Machine Operator for 2nd Shift – Applies adhesive backing to dyed test paper sheets and slits these into long strips using the slitter machine. Must: be well organized with a good attention to detail, dependable and able to work independently; have good color perception, be mechanically inclined - able to handle working with jigs, fixtures and the slitting machine; understand and respect the delicacy of the products working with; follow instructions exactly; be motivated towards products and process improvement; and be able to work closely with other staff members; and transport up to 50 pounds.  Hrs. are 3:45 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., Monday through Friday, with overtime as needed.

Supplier Quality Engineer – Reviews and assesses manufacturing processes, labor times, materials, and cost of key external supply partners.  Visits supplier sites to identify areas for improvement.  Identifies quality issues and defects.  In cooperation with supply partners, develops and implements root cause corrective actions.  Develops and implements supplier scorecard process for key external supply partners.  Assists with documentation control packages.  Performs analysis on current and future business strategy.  Assists with the logistics in Supply Chain.  Supports new product launches.  Requires bachelor’s degree, preferred in Engineering, Science or Business; prior supplier quality management experience; advanced knowledge of manufacturing and production process; excellent communication and liaison skills.  Multilingual candidates preferred; preferrable languages are Spanish and Mandarin.  Must possess a passport and be willing to travel internationally.  Total domestic and international travel approximately 60% of the time. Frequent visits expected to:  El Paso, Texas; Juarez, Mexico; Asia (various locations) and various other domestic locations. This position can be based remotely.  However, approximately 30% of the time would be dedicated to onsite work in Chestertown, Maryland.  

Test Strip QC Tech for 2nd Shift – Conducts testing at all stages of test strip production. This includes raw material qualifications (RMQs), in-process approvals and final release of test strips to the bottling stage. Minimum education requirements – general & analytical chemistry (AA science or chem tech degree preferred). Education requirement may be waived for equivalent laboratory experience. Position requires handling chemicals, using volumetric glassware, analytical balances, pH meter, and colorimeters. Must have excellent color matching skills are a necessity (20/20 vision, including corrected vision). Previous color matching experience is a plus. Excellent math (algebra) and problem-solving skills required. The position requires communication with R&D and Production departments. Must be able to travel to outside printers for proof/label approvals, general computer knowledge and the ability to use Microsoft Works, Excel and Corel software, and transport up 40 lbs.  Hrs. are 3:45 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., Monday through Friday, with overtime as needed.
