EPA Accepted Compliance Statement

LaMotte Company has been manufacturing colorimeters and testing equipment for more than 100 years. Many of our reagents and colorimeters are used throughout the United States and the world. They have been used for years in EPA regulated drinking and wastewater plants. LaMotte colorimeters are EPA accepted both in practice and on paper. The EPA does not specify a colorimeter manufacturer. The EPA specifies testing methods.

EPA-accepted means that the instrument meets the requirements for colorimeters as found in test procedures that are approved for the National Primary Drinking Water Regulations (NPDWR) or National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) compliance monitoring programs. EPA specifies the wavelength at which a colorimeter must make a test measurement and sometimes the pathlength to be used. If a colorimeter uses the specified wavelength and pathlength (if specified) for a test, then the colorimeter is EPA–accepted. EPA-accepted instruments may be used with approved test procedures without additional approval.
